Valley of the Cobras (Adventures of Jo, Zette & Jocko #4)

Author(s): Hergé

Classics

This is a less well-known but just as exciting and charming comic book adventure from the creator of Tintin. When a snowball goes astray - and hits a Maharajah - Jo, Zette and their pet monkey Jocko begin an adventure that takes them from Alpine ski-slopes to a snake infested gorge in the Himalayas. In Valley of Cobras Herge provides unforgettable characters and high drama. The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko was created by Herge in the same comic book style as his most iconic character, Tintin, whose place amongst the classic children's characters still helps to sell over 100,000 copies every year in the UK, with an estimated 230 million sold worldwide since Herge first put pen to paper on him. Two of The Adventures of Tintin were adapted for the silver screen by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson in 2011.

Product Information

Herge (Georges Remi) was born in Brussels in 1907. Over the course of 54 years he completed 23 albums of The Adventures of Tintin series, which is now considered to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, comics series of all time. With translations published in over 80 languages, more than 230 million copies sold worldwide and a Hollywood movie to its name, Tintin dominates the Comics and Graphic Novels chart even today. Sadly, Herge died in 1983, leaving his 24th album, Tintin and Alph-Art, unfinished, but his hero continues to be one of the most iconic characters in both adult and children's fiction.
